Our Weekly Recap of Events!

What a great week for the animals of In-Sync Exotics!  We dubbed this week's blog postings "the week of information."  We hope you enjoyed and learned a lot from our shared information!

 

On Monday, we reported on our 2nd Annual "Putting for Paws" Golf Tournament event!  Everyone reported having a great time "putting for a great cause." We put together a video of the event that we hope you will enjoy...click HERE for more details!

 

Tuesday's posting, Africa Needs Lions, was a little different than our usual posting as we wanted to share with you the conservation efforts underway in Africa to save the African Lions.  To learn more about the plight of the African Lions, click HERE!

 

Do you pamper a precious pet on a daily basis?  To you cater to her every whim and desire?  Well, we can relate!  Meet some of our pamper exotics cats by clicking HERE for Wednesday's blog posting!  Our cats simply love all the attention they get from our staff and volunteers!

 

Yesterday, we asked the question "Can Viagra Help Save Tigers?"  Well, to learn the answer to this question, you'll have to click HERE for an informative posting on how modern pharmaceuticals may save the majestic lions! 

 

We also posted a special "Who Am I?"  to see if fans could accurately identify the exotic cats posted on Wednesday's blog posting.  We had a few brave souls who gave it try and we almost had a winner, twice, but alas each person incorrectly identified just one exotic cat!

Our Weekly Recap of Events

We would like to dedicate this weekly blog recap to all the volunteers, staff, and board members who provided outstanding care to Keenan over the years.  Our In-Sync Exotics' family is the BEST and without you, we would not have been able to give Keenan such a loving and caring home that he deserved. Thank you everyone!

Now, on to this week's recap:

Monday's blog was all about our July Cats as we highlighted arrivals, birth dates, and tributes to  cats who crossed the Rainbow Bridge this month.  Learn more about these special animals by clicking HERE.

On Tuesday, we covered the social Dallas event called a "Taste of Dallas."   Thanks to our board director, Lisa Williams and several In-Sync Exotics' volunteers (Sonay Florez, Kim Morris, Mary Marsh, Stacy Tekstar, Judy Chapla, Ricki Hart & our newest volunteer [and reigning Miss Texas Junior Teen] Shelby) we were able to share our mission and cats with a LOT of people!  Click HERE to read more about this great event!

Keenan will always reside

Wednesday we shared with our readers the passing of Keenan, our 17-year old cougar.  While are greatly saddened that he is no longer physically with us, we choose to celebrate his life and pray that he is at peace with his father, Zeus, and his brother Charlie, just this side of Heaven at a place call the Rainbow Bridge.  Click HERE to read more about our precious Keenan.

Yesterday, we thought are readers might appreciate viewing a few fun videos of Wobbles and Sabu.  You have got to see how much Wobbles has grown over the last three months plus you'll never guess how Sabu keeps his "cool" during our hot Texas summer days! Our Weekly Recap of Events

Well, it was another busy week at In-Sync Exotics—and what a week it was for us!

On Monday we celebrated President’s Day by opening our doors to the public.  Amazingly, it was such a beautiful day for our guests to visit with our animals.

On Tuesday we discussed Okemo and Nadia’s upcoming medical procedures.  You may recall last week Vicky noticed Okemo had a swollen jaw on the right side of his face and the staff discovered Nadia had a circular wound on her face.  An appointment was made for our vet to come out and examine our animals while they were under sedation.  Needless to say, we were a little concerned with the effect sedation may have on our wild cats because…click HERE for the rest of the story.

On Wednesday, we introduced everyone to our two adorable African Servals, Jasi and Nefertiti (affectionately known to us as Nefie).  Both servals were well-kept former pets, brought to us by their former owners—but that is where their similarities end! To learn more about our servals, click HERE.

Thursday was a big day for our two tigers, Okemo and Nadia, as they were seen by their vet.  They were sedated, treated, blood and cultures taken, and then revived without any serious complications.  Read all about our tigers’ day with the vet HERE.

Update on Nadia:  Nadia’s x-rays revealed she has a tooth (T-3) on the right side of her face that needs to be pulled.  She has an appointment to have the tooth extracted on March 14, 2012.  We will keep you updated on her progress! 

Okemo day after his procedure resting

Update on Okemo:  The x-rays did reveal a problem with Okemo’s jaw; however, until the cultures results come back, we are hesitant to announce what is definitely wrong with Okemo.  We will keep you posted of Okemo’s progress as soon as we receive his lab test results.

Yesterday we released our first “tiger cam” video featuring Saber (Saber was the one who knocked over the camera), Nadia, Luca, and Mohan.  Emma was a little shy and was not seen on this particular video.  Stay tuned for more videos by Barry Stevenson to be released in the near future.  If you haven't seen the video yet, then click HERE -- be prepared to be amazed!
