Our two lions, Jynxie and Sabu have known love and loss for most of their adult lives. We just didn't know how much loss they experienced until we looked into their history prior to their arrival at In-Sync Exotics.
Sabu's Story
Sabu and Kimba were brought to the Wild Animal Orphanage in March 2005. Shortly after their arrival, Kimba died leaving Sabu alone. Sabu lived by himself for a couple of years until he was paired with Nala. After Nala passed away, Sabu was housed with another lioness, named Atti. In 2010, when the WAO closed its door due to allege misappropriate of funds and mismanagement, its animals were rehomed, including Atti, leaving Sabu all alone once again until he found a home with us at In-Sync Exotics.

Jynxie's Story
In 2001, Jynxie arrived at the WAO with her brother, Jambo. When Jambo died in 2007, the WAO tried to integrate her with two males and one other lioness. When this plan failed, the WAO tried to house Jynxie with two other male lions. After this second attempt to integrate her with other lions failed, it seemed Jynxie was destined to live alone—that was until she moved to In-Sync Exotics last year. You may recall, in May of this year, Jynxie was “married” to Dinari and they both lived happily together, until his passing a few weeks later.

Were Sabu and Jynxie destined to live alone, never to find companionship with another lion?
We prayed not! After a lot of thought into the matter, we decided both cats deserved a chance at happiness together, so we moved them into adjoining quarters so they could get to know one another.
We were concerned at first that Jynxie might not take to Sabu so soon after losing Dinari. However, our fears were allayed once we saw Sabu and Jynxie checking each other out, nose-to-nose style without incident.
After watching their body language and behavior for a while, we decided it was time to see if these two lions would accept one another by opening their connecting door. It was a tense moment as we all watched and waited with bated breath to see what would happen next. Would Jynxie accept Sabu? Would Sabu accept Jynxie?
We are pleased to announce Sabu and Jynxie are getting along just fine! For the most part, they just ignore each other—sneaking looks at each other when the other isn’t looking, playing it real “cool.” Perhaps in time, they will engage in playful activities but for now, it appears they seem quite happy checking each other out several feet apart.
All of us at In-Sync Exotics are praying that these two cats, after all they have been through over the years; finally have a chance at a long lasting and loving companionship with one another other!
