Week in Review -- And What A Week!

Well, this has been one exciting week for In-Sync Exotics!

On Monday, we started the week with a great video of Sabu running and playing with his ball.  Sadly, we reported that Sabu and Jynxie are no longer co-habituating together because Jynxie was too rambunctious for the older male lion.   Poor Sabu was nipped in the hind quarters and tail a few times, so we decided for his safety to relocate Jynxie next to the white male lions. We think Sabu misses Jynxie as he is often seen lying close to where he can watch her.  Now that's amour!

On Wednesday, we posted a tough Who Am I challenge!  We had three people guess that the mouse pad's picture was that of Freddie, but no one answered the questions correctly!  One person came very close though:

It’s my Freddie Cougar!! Such a cute pic of him! I want to say his favorite thing to jump on is his platform on the PG or the one in the middle of his cage. His weight was 65 pounds at the time of rescue.
Sorry, Shawna, according to Freddie's bio, he weighed 66 pounds at the time of his rescue!  You were so close! So no prize will be given out this month for the Who Am I Contest!

Yesterday, $1 million was available for nonprofits on North Texas Giving Day thanks to a generous donation made from the men and woman of Hunt Consolidated.  They raised the funds from their annual "Hunt Cares" campaign and decided to designate a significant portion of their gifts as matching fund for North Texas Giving Day!

Due to an overwhelmingly positive response to the DonorBridge's North Texas Giving Day, their website received a ton of hits, resulting in the communications lines going down many times.  Therefore, DonorBridge called in their volunteers and staff to process our donations over the phone until midnight!  Now we are waiting for the results of this event.  We want to thank everyone who was so determined to get their donations into DonorBridge so we can receive the matching funds along with your gift!  Our donors are amazing people and we want you to know that we truly appreciate you--thank you very, very much for helping the In-Sync Exotics' animals and our mission!  As soon as we receive news on how much we raised during this campaign, we will post the results to this site, so check back often!

Kodi - Keeping Cool!
We are still getting to know Kodi and Sam, our two new cheetahs, as they continue to get to know us!  They have settled down into their temporary new home as we continue to raise funds for their new enclosure.  So far, we have raised $1,110 on Razoo towards our $30k goal.  Thank you donors!  The cheetahs are absolutely adorable and we hope you have an opportunity to meet Kodi and Sam soon.  The weather is starting to cool down and the animals are getting a little friskier, so perhaps this weekend you might want to venture out to In-Sync Exotics to meet and greet our animals!

On a humorous note, we noticed a growing trend of lawn ornaments here in Texas.  We see metal cats, dogs, windmills, horses, and other types of landscaping ornaments decorating our neighbors' front yards.  The latest fad appears to be metal objects that represent some of Texas' indigenous animals, such as the armadillo!

But here at In-Sync Exotics, we have no need for metal lawn art as we have the "real McCoy" living right here on our property!  Check out this cute little guy seen forging around the outskirts of the In-Sync Exotics' property.  It just goes to show, you never know what critter you might see forging around at In-Sync Exotics!

We hope you have a wonderful safe and fun weekend!
